Death Knell Press is an indie publishing company dedicated to creating great works of dark fiction. Despite hardships, we will press on through the sounding of the death knell, defiant of its torment, and continue to create in this tumultuous world.

Originally La Red Books (started by Red Lagoe in 2012 as a self-publishing imprint), Death Knell Press is the reimagined, rebranded imprint which will focus on the macabre. Since the company was founded by an indie author, we understand that there is no business without our creators, so we will always put royalty earnings into the pockets of authors and creators first before spending money on new projects.

We have published four books since our official launch in 2022, as well as the Flash on the Fly Contest, and we look forward to sharing news of upcoming projects.
